OUR WATERWAYS.
OUR JOURNEY HOME.

A place to return to.
A future to build together.

On the waterways of Bayelsa, Ayakoro carries a story of resilience, belonging and new beginnings. Its annual Eyal Obeyin celebration remembers the community’s historic relocation on 12 February 1958.

This proposed Christmas festival adds a new homecoming moment: families reconnecting, elders sharing stories, young people taking the stage and local businesses welcoming the world. A celebration rooted in Ayakoro, with room for everyone.
